About us and the role

Are you passionate about books, learning resources, and inspiring young minds? We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Librarian and Resource Manager to lead our library, supporting students and staff alike in a vibrant, inclusive learning environment.

This key role blends a love of reading with strong resource management and creative support, ensuring our library is a thriving hub for independent study, reading for pleasure, and curriculum enrichment. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, you'll help cultivate a lifelong love of learning and reading while also managing vital resources and display areas that bring our school environment to life.

If you're enthusiastic about education, are resourceful, and committed to supporting both literacy and learning across the whole school community, we’d love to hear from you.

Avanti Grange is Bishop’s Stortford’s newest secondary school. Our state-of-the-art campus serves families from Stortford, Stanstead, Farnham and many other neighbouring villages. We are fortunate to have an incredible team of staff, that are creative, hard-working and inspired to develop leaders of the future.

Avanti Grange is a non-faith, co-educational, community school that embraces inclusion and diversity. “Working at Avanti Grange, has been a breath of fresh air, not only is it like a family, but the vision of the school is so clear, and everyone is working towards it.” - Maths Teacher

Our staff are inspired and passionate about their roles, the vision of the school, and providing the most fulfilling learning experience for pupils. Learning is a quest to discover each student’s unique gifts and potential, and to lay the foundation for their lifelong journey of learning.

We encourage students to value self, others and the environment and empower them to be effective learners as well as good and responsible citizens. This is all underpinned by a learning environment that allows all staff and pupils to grow, thrive and become the best versions of themselves.

Principal Quote:

“The school has an exceptionally strong pastoral system which prioritises impeccable behaviour for learning and student wellbeing. Student wellbeing is supported in several ways including timetabled yoga and meditation lessons as well as the opportunity for residential retreats.” - Rhys Jones, Principal Year Groups: Year 7 – Year 13 (Currently to Year 8)
